About Us
Our Mission Statement:
We are committed to nurturing children to become Christ-centred individuals by giving them opportunities to aspire to their full potential in academics and in service to God and others.
Timmins Trinity Christian School is an independent educational community which seeks to make the Word of God the basis for all teaching. We believe that God is interested in every aspect of a student's life, at school and at home. We offer quality education for all grades from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 8. We seek to meet or exceed provincial standards for academic quality as well as diversity of curriculum. The size of our student body varies from year to year with the last few years averaging around 20-25 students.
Since we are a private school in Ontario, we do not receive government funding but are financed by parents, Trinity Christian Society Members, friends, and area churches. We are not tied to any one Christian denomination but rather seek to teach those principles which are held in common by all Bible-believing churches.
Core subjects emphasize the importance of a good foundation in reading (including instruction in phonics), writing, and arithmetic. Computers are integrated into the curriculum, with instruction in computer skills beginning in JK. Topics include spreadsheets, databases, web research, basic graphic design, web searching, and web safety. French classes are taught daily at all levels and include reading, writing, conversation, and singing. While the present building does not have a gymnasium, we seek to compensate by offering instruction in such sports as snowshoeing, hockey/skating, running, swimming, and horseback riding, as well as teaching the fundamental rules of regular gymnasium sports.
